Dr. Oluyinka Ajibola, IYIOLA, is an associate Professor of Zoology with specialization in Cell Biology and Genetics Unit, Department of Zoology, Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. I served as acting Head of Department between August 2019 and July 2021. I am currently the Faculty of Life Sciences Research Manager. I currently work on molecular diversity studies of economically and medically-important animals. I am particularly interested in parasite and vector genomics detailing genomic studies of mosquitoes (vector) and Plasmodium falciparum (parasite). Precise identification of mosquito and Plasmodium species, deep understanding of genomic architecture of malaria parasite and transmission dynamics will assist in designing more effective control strategies and guide new drug formulation and vaccine development. I have developed a strong research team interested in genome diversity of malaria vectors and parasites. I have more than fifty (50) published articles, books and conference proceedings to my credit.
