Bolaji Fatai Oyeyemi is an academic specializing in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of Ilorin and an MSc in Cell Biology and Genetics from the University of Ibadan. He was awarded the prestigious Arturo Falaschi pre-doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships, leading to his Ph.D. at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, New Delhi. His research focuses on oral cancer, utilizing advanced techniques like Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Mass Spectroscopy, and Next-Generation Sequencing to explore metabolic, proteomic, and genomics dysregulations linked to cancer. This work has pioneered non-invasive oral cancer screening using saliva. Dr. Oyeyemi is involved in projects on the environmental and health implications of heavy metals and the potential of green nanoparticles for detoxification. He has received multiple grants and fellowships as a co-principal investigator in groundbreaking TETFund NRF research and has published extensively in his field.
