Dr. Uade Sam Ugbomoiko is a Professor of Zoology at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. He teaches Parasitology and Parasitology-related courses to undergraduates and postgraduate students in Nigeria. His research is characterized by diverse and in-depth studies focusing on many areas in Zoology, Veterinary Medicine, and other disciplines that overlap with his interest in Parasitology, mainly Neglected Tropical (parasitic) Diseases including skin infections and ecology of biting midges. More recently, he has offered technical support and advice on the WHO-SNTD Programme. Prof Ugbomoiko is a two-time Head of the Department of Zoology, Senate Representative in the Students’ Disciplinary Committee, Chairman, of the University Students’ Innovation Committee etc. He is an external examiner for postgraduate and undergraduate students in many universities in Nigeria. He is a peer-reviewer to many reputable leading scientific journals such as Tropical Medicine and International Health, International Journal of Dermatology, Acta Tropical, PLoS Neglected Tropical Disease, and an Editorial Board member of One Health and Implementation Research. He is a recipient of the Fellow of the Parasitology and Public Health Society of Nigeria.
